The Burwell FFA Chapter had seven members attend National FFA Convention at Indianapolis. Members attending were Jordan Anderson, Garrett Drudz, Warren Michalski, James Henrichs, Kaden Goff, Anna Owen, and Karly Vodehnal.
Jordan Anderson of Burwell took part in two events at National FFA Convention, Job Interview Skills and Proficiency Award-Equine Placement. She received a bronze plaque and medal in Job Interview, and a gold medal in Proficiency Award-Equine Placement with 6th overall. She qualified for these two events by winning state in both. All members attending stayed at the Sheraton Hotel on Keystone in Indianapolis, Indiana.
When we got there we attended National FFA Convention at the Indianapolis Convention Center. In the Convention Center there was an FFA Shopping Mall, a food court, and a Career Center. Members learned about college opportunities as well as career choices in the Agribusiness industry. We participated in this from Wednesday thru Friday.
On Wednesday evening we went to Conseco Fieldhouse to watch the opening session for FFA. We were interviewed on Broken Bow’s radio, and members appeared on RFD TV. On Thursday and Friday evening there was a dance for Nebraska FFA members at the Sheraton Hotel.
We left Saturday morning and got back at 10:30 p.m. that night.
